'Finger Painting Inspired By Art'

Idiosyncrasies, an exhibition by Sierra Leone born artist Prince Jah.

Prince Jah uses his fingers and natural colours (ie from plants, coffee, mud) to create works inspired by nature. Prince said:

'My paintings are intended to show our dependancy on nature and our need to respect it. Look at the veins of a leaf and see how they have inspired architects, engineers or the study of medicine'.

Prince, who teaches at residential care homes can often be seen working in open spaces around Bedford. Some years ago he carved the shape of a dog out of drift wood by the riverside-he loves to recycle natural or waste materials -more recently he could be seen stone carving in Great Denham. Prince has an Honours Degree in Fashion Design.

Don't miss this latest exhibition in the excellent series at The Basement@Bunyan, a community arts centre based at Bunyan Meeting in Mill Street, Bedford.
